Insurance Policies

Insurance and Medical Coverage

Canadian law obligates foreign students to be properly insured against accident and sickness for the duration of their studies.

Consequently, all foreign students registered in one of our intensive immersion language programs within UQAM "Summer Schools" are to subscribe to the insurance policy provided by UQAM. UQAM will not accept any other outside medical coverage.

Foreign Students (Outside of Canada)

All foreign students, without exception, must subscribe to the insurance and medical policy offered by UQAM. This policy insures against injury and sickness, and will cover medication, hospitalization, doctor's visits, and transportation back to your country of origin if need be.

2-day program:

$ 15 CAN (taxes included) *

* With this mandatory insurance policy offered by UQAM (included in the fee), you will be fully covered twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the program and twenty-four (24) hours following the termination of the program.
Should you be arriving before and/or after these dates, we highly recommend that you get an additional insurance coverage that will be valid for your entire stay in Canada.

Canadian Students or Permanent Residents
(Born Outside the Province of Quebec)

It can cost you up to $ 100 CAN or more if you require medical attention in Montreal. Canadian students, not residents of the Province of Quebec, should check with their home Province or Territory as to their medical coverage in other Provinces. It is also most important to verify with your home Province the procedures for proper reimbursement for all potential medical emergencies that may occur during your stay in Montreal.

* These costs will automatically be added to the overall fee for your program
